Action Ideas
Encouraging others to support development efforts may sound daunting at first. But with a bit of planning and our support, you'll be surprised at what you can do.
So flick through the guides below. Choose an action. And start making a difference.

The Global Ambassadors mini-guide to action
Can't decide which action to take? Or want to do them all?

Put on a film and pop some corn
Encourage others to buy FairTrade by watching Black Gold. Or get them to reduce their consumption level by watching the Story of Stuff. Whatever you want to raise awareness about, you're bound to find a film on it. So put on a film and start a debate.
For advice on how to run a successful screening, read Morgan and Ruth's profiles detailing their films nights.

Visit your old school and deliver a talk
There's no better way to get others inspired than talking from the heart. Go back to your school and share stories about the communities you lived with, their lack of access to basic services and the simple solutions everyone can be a part of.
Check out Gemma's profile to see how she got on in delivering a talk on access to water.

Make lunch times more meaningful!
If you're strapped for time outside of work to inspire others, use the lunch break to get people engaged with the issues you care about.
An opportunity for everyone to get away from their desks, screen a short film or online talk to host a Meaningful Munch.

If writing's your thing, get an article in your local paper. Time it to coincide with FairTrade Fortnight or World Water Day. But make it personal. Include a few Raleigh moments, some photos and there's no reason why your article won't get read.

If public speaking isn't your thing, run a workshop or game to raise awareness. From FairTrade to the Millennium Development Goals, take your pick.

Host a Raleigh Swap&Share party
Every year in the UK alone, 2.15 million tonnes of new clothing and shoes is bought. To make room for the new, the old is thrown away. In fact, around 900,000 million items a year, with 75% destined for landfills.

Join an Ambassadors action group
If you don't have time to take action yourself, support others who are by joining an Ambassador group. If there isn't one in your area, why not set one up?
